Marine Queensland is pleased to announce that Greg ?Marto? Martin has been appointed official Ambassador for the 2011 Brisbane Boat Show.
A past Wallaby and QLD Reds player, rugby veteran Marto now works as a radio DJ for Triple M Breakfast Show and as a TV presenter Fox Sports but lists fishing and getting outdoors as his favourite pastimes.
?It?s an honour to be asked to represent Marine Queensland as Ambassador for the 2011 Brisbane Boat Show,? Marto said.
?I have always been a keen fisherman and boating enthusiast and actually have a holiday house on Moreton Island where my family and I get on the water whenever we can.
?The Queensland boating industry has had a tough year and every little bit we can do to support the industry makes a difference to the lives of everyone involved,? he said.
This is the Boat Show?s 51st year in Brisbane, and it is set to blow last year?s efforts out of the water; encompassing a sailing stage, nautical fashions and the latest in luxury boating, water sports, fishing and accessories.
As the Official Ambassador for the 2011 Brisbane Boat Show, Marto will be involved in television commercials, will perform as a Master of Ceremonies at the show?s launch, and will share his passion for marine living with the wider Brisbane community.
Marine Queensland Events Manager Jason Plant said he was excited to have such a hands-on Ambassador for this year?s show.
?Marto has genuine enthusiasm for Queensland?s marine lifestyle, and certainly the Brisbane Boat Show is the perfect place to share fishing, boating and sailing tips with friends,? Plant said.
