Sales of Microsoft Windows Phones have fallen in North America, and are "on the verge of disappearing in the United States and parts of Western Europe," according to Forbes.

Most mobile-app development takes place in these same locations, so the likelihood that apps will continue to be developed for Windows Phone, also is not promising.
