ok just wondering if im correct here: recommended dosing is 2-4g of EPA and DHA a day? so if i have fish tablets that are 1000mg, containing 300mg combined DHA and EPA, i would take 7 of them a day to get 2100mg DHA and EPA?

Yes. I would look into a fish oil with higher EPA/DHA personally.

2-3g EPA/DHA is ideal in my honest opinion.
I like iForce Fish Oil - 500mg combined EPA/DHA per cap, and each cap is infused with peppermint oil to yield a delicious flavor sensation rather than the stereotypical fish oil burps.

yeah mine are nature made or something like that, cheap wal mart brand haha im going to get liquid fish oil next time i think.
anyways, if their are only 300mg DHA and EPA, then what are the other 700mg in there? just random fatty fish acids?

This is exactly why you need to use your brain when supplementing and cutting. Simply picking a low dosed fish oil where you need 10 caps (and thereby 100 calories) is a poor choice when you can obtain the same EPA/DHA from 3 caps (30 calories). Simple way to shave 70 calories every day.

I looked into this and I couldn't find the answer. I do know that fish don't naturally produce/synthesize omega 3s in their bodies but that they ingest them through plankton and algae.

oh im not cutting, but i know what you mean. it's just what i first started using last year when i heard you should take 3g of fish oil ( and yeah i thought it ment total fish oil g, not DHA and EPA). oh well, you live and you learn!

If you're looking for the fish oil that has the highest EPA/DHA per 1000mg, I haven't seen anything higher than this That's $54 a month though at two a day
