That's what I did today. And what I'll be doing Thursday. Oh, and what I'll be doing next Wednesday too. From the sounds the physical therapist made and the things she said it appears I delayed this physical therapy thing for far too long. Read: a couple of months.
The natural effects of pregnancy have taken their toll on my body. My right hip is basically collapsing on itself and the rest of my body is trying to compensate by tightening up all the wrong muscles. The physical therapist I was referred to (she's awesome bless her heart) pointed out an area on my lower back and said, have you noticed what looks like a roll of fat back here? I nodded. She said, "You're not fat. It's inflammation. I've worked out a lot of it today and if you'll notice it's gone."
Huh. Inflammation and not a roll of fat? I'm good with that. She then gave me some tips for work and home to help my hips heal and remain healthy for the rest of my pregnancy and said she'd like to see my hips become strong and even out again over the next few weeks - that's all I have left, anyway.
Sunday at church we had a lesson about gratitude and living a life in thankfulness. The question was posed, "if all you had today was what you thanked the Lord for yesterday, what would you have?"
I'm so thankful for people who know how to make sure my body stays well for this baby. I'm so thankful for the care I've received and for health professionals.
