What?the world didn?t end? I guess I need to post about this weekend?s events then?
Let?s skip right on over to New Year?s Eve, shall we? After all, that?s the next really big happening. In honor of it turning 2013, how about some foodie NYE events to get the new year on a good foot (assuming you will be able to find your good foot after a night?s revelry)?
blueplate in Mullica Hill is having a four-course spread that includes wines from Wagonhouse Winery. The first course includes a panzarotti with short ribs?oh my.
A wine bar on New Year?s Eve ? now that sounds like a plan! Annata Wine Bar in Hammonton is having a gourmet buffet and champagne toast for $72 a person.
At The Living Room at 709 in Point Pleasant Beach, they?re serving a four-course wine dinner starting at 8PM. Enjoy the menu being put together by 709?s new exec chef Chuck Tomney.
Salem City Cafe in, well, Salem is having a special 3-course dinner starting at 5:30PM for $39.95 a person. The menu is small but focuses on their Cajun cuisine. There?s a Sir Beatle sing along afterwards, and who knows?maybe a Nirvana tribute group will show up, too.
Chef Mark Smith of Tortilla Press in Collingswood and Tortilla Press Cantina in Merchantville has always made an effort to cater to families. His eateries will have a Family New Year?s Eve Menu that will be available from 2PM to 5:30PM. The cost is $22.99 per person, and $11.99 for kids under 12. If you have babysitting, they can accommodate that too: a Very Special New Year?s Eve Menu will be available starting at 5:30PM for $32 a person.
Across the street from Tortilla Press in Collingswood is Blackbird, and they will be serving a four-course menu for $65 a person from 5PM to 10PM. Veal sweet breads are part of course one, so it sounds like it will be a good evening there.
At The Madison in Riverside, there will be two special New Year?s Eve events: a four-course Celebration dinner at 6PM for $49.95 per person, and an 8:30PM Gala that includes hors d?oeuvres, dinner, open bar and champagne toast at midnight for $150 a person. By the way, someone named Lisa Howard-Fusco had a piece this week in the Courier-Post about The Madison.
Cattle ?n Clover in Wildwood is also giving you two options: a 6:30 seating for $60 that includes a four-course meal and a bottle of wine, and the ?full package? at 8PM for $120 that includes the dinner, an open bar, live musical entertainment and chmpagne toast. Nice.
At the Windrift in Avalon, two seatings for a New Year?s Eve dinner: a $150 per couple seating at 5:30PM and one at 9PM for $125.
Under the Moon in Bordentown is having a special five-course prix fixe menu for $55 a person.
If you?re looking for a multi-course dinner with a seafood tilt, Fischer?s Pelican Restaurant in Sewell is doing just that at their 9:30PM seating for $75 a person.
Celebrate New Year?s Eve Scottish-style at The British Chip Shop in Haddonfield with their Hogmanay menu available for $38 per person.
Not into Scottish? How about Russian? A New Year?s Dinner and Dance will be taking place at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Vineland from 10PM to 2AM.
From 4PM to 8PM, Ocean City High School will be the location for First Night Ocean City: A Taste of the Jersey Shore. The cost to taste is $20 per person and $8 for kids under 11.
Down Cape May way, you have the schwank stylings of The Glitter Ball at Congress Hall for New Year?s Eve. For $165 per person, you have a cocktail hour with pasta and hors d?oeuvres followed by a full sit down dinner. At The Ebbitt Room, there will be seatings from 5:30PM to 7:30PM and from 8PM to 10PM. Check out their menu for the evening.
Geraghty?s Pub & Restaurant in Burlington will be offering you three (count ?em, three) options for NYE, depending on what you like to drink. Food is part of the deal, too. Check their options here.
Two options are available at DiPaolo?s Italian Ristorante in Penns Grove: a $39.95 seating from 5PM to 7PM, and $49.95 after 7PM. Special room rates at The Hampton Inn in Pennsville are being made available as well.
For a few more ideas, let?s DO AC!
Let?s do four from Revel: Chef Marc Forgione?s American Cut and Chef Alain Allegretti?s Azure are serving $150 prix fixe meals from 5PM to 11PM. Chef Jose Garces? Amada will be having three seatings: 6PM, 8PM and 10:30PM. The 10:30 seating includes a Cava toast at midnight. For a more inexpensive evening, Lugo Caffe will be having their own prix fixe menu on New Year?s Eve for $55 per person. There will also be plenty of New Year?s Day brunches going at Revel.
OTHER than New Year?s Eve stuff, you do have Cape May Brewing hanging out at Goodnight Irene?s in Vineland on Saturday. Word is they are going to tap their new Apple Pie brew. You also have the Kwanzaa Fest going on at the Willingboro Recreation Center from 11AM to 4PM. Folk workshops and food from local restaurants will be served.
