As many of my regular viewers to this web blog know, there are many factors contributing to childhood obesity. I post daily here about it, whether news print articles, opinions, feedback, or just personal opinion.

Recently, I wrote an article for Yahoo! (click here) about childhood obesity. I started searching for sources for this article, and received over 100 responses to the question, ?What do you think caused the rise in childhood obesity?? Responses came from professional and Olympic athletes, fitness experts, health experts, nutritionist, and parents.

I was unable to use everyone?s feedback, but thought it would be great to post some of their responses on my blog in a new web series, ?What Causes Childhood Obesity.? I hope that you enjoy the opinions here from various individuals. Please remember, my including their posts does not necessarily mean I agree or endorse their opinion, rather, a place to share other people?s thoughts.

Childhood obesity is on the rise because children are stressed. Stress is fueled by technology overload, a sedentary lifestyle, academic and social pressures, and problems at home. Stress triggers junk food eating. Technology triggers mindless eating. Add emotional pressures to the recipe and you have an obese child. Children need to be taught happiness as a subject in school. This means coping skills, resilience, creative and physical activity.

Microsoft Develops 80" Wall-Mounted Tablet for Offices

Chief executive officer of Microsoft has got rid of numerous traditional office appliances such as pens, notepapers and a telephone. What he uses is a 80" "tablet" personal computer powered by Windows 9, which is not an exclusively built gadget, but is a prototype of a product that Microsoft actually wants to sell.

"Steve Ballmer has an 80" Windows 8 tablet in his office. He has got rid of his phone, he has got rid of his note paper. It is touch-enabled and it is hung on his wall. It is his whiteboard, his email machine and it is a device we're going to sell," said Frank Shaw, vice president of communications at Microsoft, in an interview with Wired.

Nothing particular was revealed about the device (e.g., what resolution does it have and what processor and graphics adapter does it run?), the only thing clear is that it is neither Microsoft's well-known Surface or recently announced Sharp Aquos Board. Still, this is a prototype of a device that replaced conventional office equipment and redefines what is currently known as office work.

When the product will be finalized, it will become commercially available, but Microsoft claims it will not be a consumer product at least initially. On the other hand, once something valuable and not too special-purpose is released, it finds its way to the consumer in case it is universal enough for the masses.

"It is not a consumer thing now, but we know historically that that's how all things start. The idea that there should be a screen that's not a computer, we will laugh at that in two years. Every screen should be touch, every screen should be a computer and should be able to see out as well as see in. That is the way the world is heading [and] those screens are going to be big, small, wall-sized and desk-sized," added Mr. Shaw.

Microsoft Windows 8 will be available later this year in three versions. When wall-mounted "tablets" with 80" screens are available is absolutely unknown.

Lawyer: Blind activist's missing brother returns

Blind social activist Chen Guangcheng is starting a new life of freedom in the U.S. NBC's Michelle Franzen reports.

BEIJING -- The brother of blind Chinese activist Chen Guangcheng who was reported to have gone missing has returned to his village in northeastern China, a lawyer said on Saturday.

The short disappearance of Chen Guangfu had sparked concerns he was the latest target of government reprisals against the family of the activist, who escaped from his village in late April after 19 months of detention at home.

Shandong-based lawyer Liu Weiguo told Reuters Chen Guangfu had returned to Dongshigu village. Liu earlier said the activist was "very worried" about his brother's disappearance and was contacting friends to look for him.

?"Brother Fu is now home," Liu said, adding he had received a text message from Chen Guangfu on Saturday night.

Chen Guangfu had left his village on Tuesday and arrived in Beijing on Wednesday to seek legal help for his son who is detained on a charge of attempted murder. Friends and family had tried to contact him since Friday evening after it appeared he did not return to his hotel room in Beijing that night.

His son Chen Kegui, 32, was charged with "intentional homicide" for using knives to fend off local officials who burst into his home on April 27, the day after they discovered his uncle had escaped.

Blind Chinese activist Chen in US: 'Promote justice and fairness in China'

He could face the death penalty. His lawyers, denied access to him last week, said he did not kill anyone.

On Wednesday, Chen Guangfu had recounted to Reuters details of his own torture and reprisals by authorities since his brother's escape.

He said he was restricted from leaving his village, and police in Shandong warned him they would increase his son's sentence if he gave interviews.

Blind social activist Chen Guangcheng leaves China to start a new life of freedom in the U.S. Angus Walker reports.

Activist Chen Guangcheng took refuge in the U.S. embassy last month, where he stayed for six days and sparked a diplomatic crisis between China and the United States.

That crisis, which overshadowed a visit by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was finally defused last Saturday when China allowed Chen to fly to the United States to study.

Astronauts enter world's 1st private supply ship

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) ? The space station astronauts have entered the Dragon.

Early Saturday, the crew of the International Space Station slid open the hatch of its new addition, the world's first commercial supply ship. The SpaceX capsule, named Dragon, made history with its arrival Friday.

NASA astronaut Donald Pettit was the first one in. He said it smelled like a brand new car and reminded him of the cargo capability of his pickup truck. Pettit and his crewmates have until the middle of next week to unload Dragon's groceries and refill the capsule with gear for return to Earth.

The California-based SpaceX is the first private company to send a vessel to the space station. NASA is turning over delivery work so it can focus on getting astronauts to asteroids and Mars.
